Published reference standard
ISO/IEC 17024:2026 (edition 3) was published in March 2026 and is the current international standard setting general requirements for bodies operating certification of persons.
UKG uses relevant concepts from ISO/IEC 17024:2026 as a reference when designing and improving its certification system. Reference or alignment work is not the same as third-party accreditation.
UKG framework layers
- Corporate legal responsibility, impartiality and conflicts controls.
- Certification-scheme ownership, versioning, review and change control.
- Eligibility and evidence requirements linked to the competence being certified.
- Assessment blueprints, controlled question banks, practical rubrics and pass standards.
- Certification decisions separated from inappropriate commercial influence.
- Credential issue, status, suspension, withdrawal, expiry and recertification controls.
- Appeals, complaints, privacy, security, record retention and audit trails.
- AI-assisted processes monitored with validation, appropriate human oversight and exception escalation.
Evidence grows with operation
As a newly established organisation, UKG must build evidence that these controls work in practice. Policies alone are not enough. Scheme performance, assessment data, audit records, management review, corrective actions and documented outcomes should be accumulated and reviewed as the system matures.
